The material has been used for small concrete repairs, external plastering and pointing work around MacDuff, Banff, Portsoy and Rosehearty harbours. The material is very easy for site staff to prepare as there are no additives or mixing requirements. The waterproofing nature of the material is also attractive to use around the harbour. From our, albeit limited use of the material I would have no hesitation in recommending it for use as a concrete repair product in the marine environment.
We have used NATCEM 35 and NATCEM AC on a wide variety of projects from schools and commercial properties to domestic dwellings. It has generally been used for concrete repairs to columns, beams and other concrete elements. Its main advantage over other proprietary concrete repair products is its use where temporary formwork is being used. The rapid setting properties of NATCEM allows formwork to be stripped the same day instead of having to return to site again the next day.
We have used Natural Cement on two recent projects for the refurbishment of Sugar Loaf Tunnel for Railtrack Great Western Zone and the upgrading of Winchester Tunnel for Railtrack Eastern Zone. From our experience, the material used in sprayed concrete work, had very low rebound properties, high early strength and excellent adhesive properties even in very wet conditions. We are very pleased to recommend the use of the material and can confirm that it is our intention to specify this material for use in any further refurbishment works we may have in the future.
