The Natural Cement used to form the basis of all our products starts to set after 90 seconds so in order to achieve a more workable mix, the set time is retarded in some products by the addition of a natural retardant. Natural Cement based products have set-times ranging from 90 seconds to 1 hour.
Following the initial set, Natural Cement products go through a period of rapid strength gain. It’s the high early strengths of the products which makes them well suited to repair and remedial work or for application in areas where a quick turnaround or rapid return to service is essential.
Once mixed, Natural Cement based products can be placed underwater with no effect on the performance. As the cement is hydraulic it will set in the presence of water and does not require air to dry. The products will also not disperse when placed underwater (anti-washout) making them ideal for all types of underwater applications.
Due to the unique chemistry, once Natural Cement products set has completed, no additional curing period is required. This means the products can be painted, plastered or overlayed as soon as one hour after set – enabling substantial time savings over OPC based alternatives.
Working in freezing conditions can often prove a stumbling block in construction projects. Natural Cement based products can be used down to and below 0 °C and have even been used successfully as low as -14 °C. The difference in chemical reaction when mixed with water allows the products to be used at low temperatures without issues.
Natural Cement products do not have a limited shelf life. If stored and kept in the correct conditions, as advised in the product data sheets, the materials can be used for many years without any issues.
Natural Cement products also have many environmental benefits over alternatives. The products have a low carbon footprint, contain no chemical additives, are potable water approved, fish friendly and all packaging is fully recyclable.
