Natural Cement Team Completes Mental Health Awareness Week Fundraiser Walk
Last week, six members of the Natural Cement team completed a sponsored walk for the Mental Health Foundation.
Our fundraiser walk took place during Mental Health Awareness Week and on the Foundation’s Wear it Green Day, held on 14th May. To mark the occasion, the team wore custom green “Mental Health Matters” T-shirts throughout the route. The fundraiser followed a simple “14” theme. The team chose 14th May, planned a 14km walk, and set an initial fundraising target of £140. However, the final result went well beyond those early plans.
Starting and ending at the Natural Cement office, the team completed a final distance of 15.89km in 2:59:27. At the time of writing, the fundraiser has raised £470 for the Mental Health Foundation through the sponsored walk and bake sale. This means the team has more than tripled its original £140 target.
The walking team included Jack, Harry, James, Leah, Millie and Joe. In addition, Natural Cement held a bake sale outside the office to support the same cause. The stall featured green-themed cakes and cupcakes, with Director Vicki helping to run the stand and collect donations.
Mental Health Awareness Week offers an important reminder of the value of open conversations, shared support, and community action. Therefore, the Natural Cement team wanted to take part in a way that felt active, visible, and positive. The route brought the team through local roads, paths, and open countryside. Although the original target was 14km, the team pushed on and finished just under 16km in total.
The fundraiser also gave colleagues a chance to step away from the office, spend time together, and support a cause that affects many people across workplaces and communities.
Natural Cement would like to thank everyone who has donated so far, supported the bake sale, or encouraged the team before and after the walk.
The JustGiving page remains open for donations, with each and every donation beyond incredibly appreciated in support of a great cause.
