    Corrosion is one of the most common and costly causes of failure in concrete and mortar, making corrosion resistant concrete repair options vital.     In Portland cement, carbonation occurs when carbon dioxide reacts with calcium hydroxide and other hydrates, which lowers pore solution alkalinity and reduces the protection of embedded steel. As alkalinity falls, the passive film on reinforcement can break down, leaving it vulnerable to corrosion. NATCEM® corrosion resistant concrete repair materials retain a stable, naturally high pH and demonstrate resistance to carbonation. This preserves the passivation of steel and delivers long-term protection against rusting and cracking.

    Sulphate and Acid Resistance Built-In

    Natural Cement is naturally resistant to sulphate and acid attack. Its mineralogy prevents the expansive reactions that cause Portland cement mortars and concretes to weaken. Therefore, NATCEM® products remain durable in sewers, wastewater plants, coastal settings, and heritage structures. They continue to perform even in aggressive environments.
